5,000 extra seats in a redeveloped Main Stand?

That's the first I have heard. They've always said 10,000 before now.

They haven't redeveloped before because they always wanted super casino. Now there is to be no casino they must do something. How about seeing if Las Vega Sands want to sponsor new stand and have their name plastered all over it. I can picture it now- The Las Vega Sands Main stand.

Surely they have thought of such ideas themselves. Its not rocket science.

Anyway, forget the extra seats, what about the comfort and safety of the fans? Surely that is paramount and the Main stand is no longer adequate. 35,000 seats plus the capacity to extend all 3 sides upwards if necessary in the future will give us a decent enough stadium.

Come on sullivan, rebuild the Main Stand and give us a stadium we can be 100% proud of not just 75%.

I always understood it would add an extra 5000 to the gate taking the capacity upto 35.000 (ish)

There is a possibility that the City council will build the City of Birmingham stadium and that BCFC were in discussion with them, If it happened the proceeds from the sale of StAndrews would be put into the pot to aid the building costs.

DS said that a basic 55.000 seat stadium could be built for as little as £70m to £80m but the one being discussed would cost in the 100's of millions as the council want is as a showpiece for the City.

If the new stadium idea does not happen he will consider re-building the main stand.
